"iPhone security concerns are overblown"

iPhones executives we’re told by security companies to stay away from the iPhone. Security analyst Andrew Jaquith’s answer: “I think it has been exaggerated.”

Jaquith says that there in fact are reasons to keep the iPhone out of private enterprise but that they are not security reasons. Rather they are policy decisions that could exist for a number of reasons other than security.

He also mentions the inevitable: companies are not likely to keep the iPhone out. While the companies may not give the phone to it’s employees, some of them will surely buy it themselves.

And why would they want to stay away from the iPhone? It’s an easy to use tool that will boost individual creativity. It’s revolutionary, historical and brings us closer to technological integration.

It might not be “enterprise ready” in the eyes of veteran security experts but we have to look beyond the skepticism and discover it’s creative potential.
